What is modified starch

 

After being processed by a certain method, the original starch changes its original physical or chemical properties to varying degrees.

On the basis of the inherent characteristics of natural starch, in order to improve the performance of starch and expand its application range, physical, chemical or enzymatic treatment is used to introduce new functional groups on starch molecules or change the size of starch molecules and the properties of starch granules. Thereby changing the natural properties of starch (such as: gelatinization temperature, thermal viscosity and stability, freeze-thaw stability, gel strength, film-forming properties, transparency, etc.) to make it more suitable for certain application requirements. This kind of starch that has undergone secondary processing and changed its properties is collectively referred to as modified starch.

 

Application of modified starch:

Oxidized starch

Papermaking sizing agent, coating adhesive, corrugated paper production adhesive; carton paper bag adhesive; substitute arabic gum for candy production; bleaching, dyeing and finishing sizing agent.

Acid hydrolyzed starch

Auxiliaries and excipients for the production of jelly, jelly and candy; matte machine sizing in the paper industry; warp sizing agent and fabric finishing agent after washing; gypsum board bonding.

Cross-linked starch

The characteristic is that the thermal viscosity is stable, and it can withstand the influence of the change of the pH value and the viscosity during mechanical stirring. Used as soup can, oyster sauce thickener, vermicelli production auxiliary, corrugated paper production adhesive, latex glove release agent, linen fabric and denim slurry.

Cationic starch

Papermaking wet cloth sizing agent, reinforcing agent and retention aid, coating sizing agent; warp yarn sizing agent; sewage purification additive; adhesive tape production additive.

Phospholipid Starch

Paper sizing agent; adhesive for corrugated paper, carton, paper bag production; polyester fiber warp yarn sizing agent; boiler scale inhibitor.

Vinegar starch

Textile sizing agent; food thickener, food emulsifier.

Carboxymethyl starch

Detergent auxiliary; food thickener, stabilizer and binder; oil well mud treatment agent.

Carboxyalkyl starch

Detergent enhancer; textile auxiliaries.

Our modified starch production line is specialized equipment for modified starch(also called denatured starch) and pregelatinized starch. The process includes extrusion, expansion, drying, and crushing. The detailed machine configuration is as follows:

The mixer is used for mixing raw materials.

The milling system is used for grinding the semi-finished products into powder, that is the modified starch.
